Questions& Answers with Swami Prakashanand
Question: Swamiji, please explain the meaning of Deennath and how I can increase that quality in myself.
Answer: Deennath means God is the Guardian Friend of all humble souls. (Deen= humbleness, Nath = Lord.) To become more humble, you need to have more understanding of the value of human life and how to live in the world peacefully without worldly elements disturbing your life. For instance, a devotee is doing devotions, waiting for Krishn to come. Krishn is not coming, and the devotee feels dejected. That is not deenta. If you can’t improve, just have patience. Feeling inferior is not deenta. So, in devotion you should have a balanced mind.
A sign of deenta is to feel that you don’t have humbleness. If you feel you have humbleness it makes you proud.
Question: I have heard that there are different kinds of attainments of Radha Krishn love that the Gopis experience, can you explain this?
Answer: Anyone who becomes God realized, comes very close to Krishn. How the different kinds of Gopis differ is beyond material understanding. The way Mother Yashoda loves Krishn is different than a Gwalbal or Gopi, but we can’t know the difference with a material intellect.
For example, a beggar is begging for a few dollars, and someone comes and says, “Do you want to get 1 billion or 2 billion dollars?”
“Oh… one is enough.” He can’t comprehend the difference between 1 and 2 billion. It is immaterial for him. Similarly, Divine attainment is beyond the material mind, but know that all Gopis are close to Radha Krishn.
Conclusion:
Swami Prakashanand Saraswati beautifully clarifies that true humility lies in not believing oneself to be humble but in constantly striving for it. He also emphasizes that the love between Radha Krishn and Their devotees is beyond material comprehension, yet every soul who surrenders is blessed with divine closeness.
